I had an amazing opportunity to interview Mike Bastine, a Native American Algonquin, who has been speaking about the necessity of re-connecting to Nature as a means to reform consciousness. That was back in 2010. Since then, I’ve updated the interview, including new notes and insights.
You can catch the updated interview about reforming consciousness with Algonquin educator, storyteller, and healer Mike Bastine, here.
Fantastic article!! Thank you so much!!!
WOW!! This truly spoke to my heart! I have always said that if one takes the time to observe Earth Mother that there are many valuable lessons to be learned. I just wish that we could get the rest of mankind to head and understand Mike Bastine’s great wisdom!
Wonderful article, thank you!
“…the marriage between humans and this planet.” That is the wonder-filled path of harmony, of natural evolution and expression.
The bit of land my mother in laws and hubby’s boyhood home is located among tall trees, very near the western coast. Birdsong and crow call fills the morning. Critters scamper here daily even though we’re
in suburban bay area. Here is the essence of a dream I experienced while visiting there recently. It was contact with first nation energies. In this dream I wandered in to a village. I was wearing a wool sweater but the weave was altered and it was a reflection of the weave of the “locals”. I repeated over and over…We are the same. Look, we are the same.
I was brought into the presence of the village elder. He was in repose, in a shelter/place of healing. He was wrapped head to toe
in a shroud of some sort, because of wounds and abuse. I knelt close to this person, laid my head upon his torso and wept. His hand reached up and he patted my back and stroked my hair extending comfort to me. It was a connection of the heart on both our parts.
We are the same. When I made the shift morning awake-fulness, I quick wrote the details of this dream out as I knew I had been given a gift of this experience.
And I am prompted to share it now in light of this interview. There is so much first nation elders can teach us, they can lead us to a wisdom. Deep understanding. Also
brings to mind a personal favorite
prescient advice of the poet William Wordsworth, “Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.”
Happy 31th of Oct. everyone!
I love this article. I think we are too quick to pass of things in life. It’s guys like Mike, who we all ought to be striving after to really see why and how things are working.
Wow Avia. I’m sure you’re already aware of how blessed you are to have the opportunity to meet with an Elder. Really appreciate the value your interview produced. More of us should reach out to learn from our elders (tribal or not). Keep up the great work in sharing your message with the world!
Sincerely,
Simon
